Scent of a...

I got a package yesterday from "the box man" (UPS is the box man, FedEx is the white box man). I wasn't home so the kids asked Fred about it.

Kids: What's inside, mints?!?

Fred: I don't know, why don't you shake it.

Kids: (shaking) It sounds like mints!

Abby: Well, let's smell it to see.

Daniel: (sniffing) I can't tell, it just smells like box...

Also:

The other day I mentioned to Daniel that he probably needed a bath. He sniffs his arm and says "no, I'm not stinty (stinky), I just smell like stin (skin)!

Abby's Top 14 List

Our stake (it's like a Diocese) hosted a Daddy-Daughter dance last weekend. Abby was so excited she wanted to wear her "wedding" dress (the dress I bought her for Mikkel's wedding) and she had everything all set out days in advance so she could get ready (which she wanted to do the moment she woke up that day). On the way home, she gave Fred her list of what she liked about it.

Abby's things I liked about the Daddy Daughter dance:

1. When my dad twirled me around and around.
2. Liked to "move it move it".
3. Dad let me jump really high.
4. Getting to ride in dad's "Date Car". (that's what mom calls the "not the minivan").
5. Making a cookie. Making another cookie.
6. Going to our "old" church (the Stake Center).
7. Playing "tag" on the stage.
8. Doing the Chicken Dance.
9. Getting to wear my pretty purple dress.
10. Mom let me wear her necklace.
11. Seeing & dancing with my old friends (before the ward split).
12. That it was a date with my dad.
13. M&M ties.
14. Getting Ice Cream afterwards

I have it on good authority that it was "really really fun".

Daniel: I saw a snail outside so I put salt on it, betuz we don't want snails in our town.

Post-Triathlon

In Kerrville, after Isabelle's triathlon we decided to get breakfast so we went into a little cafe. Ordering our food came with the usual questions; what side do you want with that, etc. and finally the waitress came to Abby.

Abby: I want eggs and pancakes.

Server: And how do you want your eggs, sweetie?

Abby: Ummm, cooked.

The entire cafe heard and she was a big hit!

Abby: Yes... but I don't think I want to see all that kissing.

Daniel: Mommy, my leg hoats (hurts) right here by my knee. I think it must be a bunion...
